About Me

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the cost?

A standard tuning for a piano that’s been well maintained takes a little over an hour and costs $140. There’s no additional charge for travel time within my typical service area.

Other services and electrical instruments require evaluation/estimate. Just let me know what you’re looking for.

How does billing work?

I accept cash, check, Venmo, Paypal.

How soon are you available?

It depends, please contact me.

How often should my piano be tuned?

Once per year should do it for minimum maintenance. Whenever it sounds like it needs it. I tune mine a tiny bit every day.

What’s your service territory?

Burlington, Middlebury, and the surrounding areas. By this I mean most of Addison and Chittenden counties. Please contact me to discuss details of this constraint.

What’s your keyboard tuning method?

I set temperament/stretch (pure 12ths) using Reyburn Cybertuner software. Then I test and fine-tune mostly by ear.

I tend to bring flat pianos up to concert pitch but let sharp ones float unless you have a reason to specify your own preferred reference pitch.
